The charity we are supporting this year is called, “Sparkles”.
Sparkles is a small, parent-led charity providing speech and language, physio and occupational therapy to pre-school children with Down’s syndrome living in and around Buckinghamshire.
They were formed in 1999 by a group of parents who knew they had to do more to support their children with Down’s syndrome. Funds were raised to start individually tailored speech and language sessions with an independent therapist.
Since then the charity has gone from strength to strength, expanded the therapies they offer, and helped over 100 children make themselves heard in the world, ease their path into childhood and ultimately school.
Today, the therapeutic support that they offer through Sparkles is a valuable addition to NHS services which are not compromised by joining
This is a charity that has been invaluable to Carolyn & David who are members of CSP tennis club. Their grandson, Arthur, and his parents, have had the support from Sparkles, since he was born two years ago with unexpected Down’s syndrome.
We are delighted to welcome head chef (and not bad on the tennis court either) – Nick Trigg and his sous & bar-man extraordinaire – Adrian Radulescu to the kitchen again. After their amazing supper last year, we are in for a culinary treat… don’t miss out!
We would be grateful for any raffle prizes people might also be able to donate. Please contact Carolyn on: firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any donations.
Partners are very welcome to join for the supper.
The cost is £2 fun tennis tournament entry and all proceeds will be donated to the charity. £8pp for supper. The bar will be open as usual.
We had a really successful charity evening last year due to your generosity and support. We raised an amazing £1000 for the Chiltern MS centre. Let’s make this an equally great event. Please do come along and support.
